My condolences to Wendy. It’s tough to lose a loved one, hooved, pawed or footed.

Sarah! Thank you for this post on the “Jagermeister”.

I can’t sleep so I’m sitting in my bed thinking of all the nicknames I called him. He was Jagman, Jagermeister, the Jagerman (pronounce the J as a Y), Jager (J as a Y again), My Big Man, and once in awhile he might get a “shit head”. Usually when he was bucking, which wasn’t often but it would be more like “knock it off shit head”.

He was such a clever guy and I will always wonder how he removed his blanket without undoing a single buckle.

Thanks for letting me share his silly nicknames with you. I’ll have to read about the chiropractic treatments now on your guys. Jag’s first chiropractic treatment caused him to send the doctor 1/2 way down the isle. He hit a sore spot evidently… 😉

Now maybe I’ll get some sleep tonight…

Wendy, my heart breaks for you. I remember the horrible feeling of waking up the first few mornings after Alibar died and lying in bed, thinking, “This is real”. It was awful.

Whenever you are up to it, please share more stories about Jagermeister- I would love the hear them.

I forgot to mention that Jag L-O-V-E-D Alibar’s horse treats!! I made a huge batch of them and shared them with everyone at my barn. In fact, the humans ate some too. They were so yummy! Toby, my 20 yr old ex racer, doesn’t care for too much molasses so the next batch was made special for him with no molasses and tons of brown sugar. Jag didn’t care. He was the proverbial “mikey” in the Life cereal ads. He’d eat anything!

    Wendy

ps – yes so far each morning has been hard to get out from under the covers. Thankfully my cat forces the issue.

That’s so sweet- I’m so happy to hear that your special guy loved them and that Alibar’s favorite treats are being shared by so many horses.
